n 2020, the Pekin Times wrote, “The carillon that will regale local listeners throughout the weekend was donated in 2017 by church member Jim McMillan in honor of his parents, Ira and Dorothy McMillan. The St. Paul’s carillon has a large library of music that can be seasonally programmed.” The programmed bells of St. Paul UCC’s carillon will peal out patriotic pieces on July 2 -4 at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Each program will last approx. 20 minutes and will include patriotic favorites such as You’re A Grand Old Flag, This Is My Country, Stars and Stripes Forever, My Country Tis of Thee, God Bless America, I’m A Yankee Doodle Dandy, and Battle Hymn of the Republic. “Drive-In” to the city parking lot and enjoy the music from your car or enjoy in our garden area or bring a lawn chair as our building will remain closed and not accessible. Cold water will be available July 2nd and 3rd from coolers in the garden area.
