The Philharmonic Chorale, in residence at Illinois Central College, presents its spring concert on Sun., May 7 at 3 pm in the ICC Performing Arts Center, located on the East Peoria Campus.

Music will include “The Last Words of David” by Randall Thompson, “Honor and Glory” by Johann Sebastian Bach, “J’entends les Moulin” arranged by Donald Patriquin and “If Love Should Count You Worthy” by James Mulholland, featuring accompaniment by French Horn Catherine Reem and pianist Carol Spayer. Selections by Illinois composer Paul Carey, Jack Halloran, John Rutter, and Stephen Paulus will be featured. In addition, Richard Schumann’s “Zigeunerleben” (Gypsy Life) will be performed in a world music set, featuring soloists Melissa Friedlund, Kelly Gibson, Jim Rimington and Walter Wilkins. 
Now in its 92nd season, the Philharmonic Chorale is one of the oldest choral groups in the area, with singers from a wide range of ages and all over Central Illinois. Its purpose is to perform, promote, and encourage choral music, and it gives two major concerts a year – one at Christmas and one in the spring. More information about the group is available atphilharmonicchorale.org.

The Philharmonic Chorale is supported as an in-residence ensemble by the Arts at ICC, which has a rich history of enhancing the arts community and expanding education beyond the classroom. Arts at ICC presents more than 500 exhibits, performances, lectures, rehearsals, meetings, master classes, clinics, seminars, receptions, orientations, forums, auditions and tournaments annually.
