Please join Aventine Renewable Energy, Inc., the City of Pekin and the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce as we celebrate the new $13.2M natural gas boiler project we completed, along with the retiring of three coal boilers that served the Pekin complex. The boilers were purchased from INDEK, a Chicago based company. The natural gas boilers will result in a major reduction of SO2 in the Pekin area while ensuring stable steam supplies, resulting in the continuation of over 190 jobs (165 United Steelworkers).
